Halo Infinite has been a great new instalment in Master Chief's story, with a narrative and semi-open world that has deeply impressed new and existing fans alike.

The game has been a grand return to form for the franchise that has long failed to meet its potential, with many Halo titles letting fans down at every turn - but Infinite has broken the cycle. Yet, despite the campaign's incredible success, fans are still gravitating towards the game's multiplayer mode.

The mode dropped as a complete surprise, offering players a free-to-play Halo experience that has come to rival the titans of the FPS world, with even Battlefield 2042 holding the game accountable for its poor sales. And now, the mode is set to get even bigger.

Halo Infinite Leaks Hint At 10 New Maps

According to a leaker specialising in Halo, it looks like there are yet to be new maps added to the game, and that they'll be trickling out during different stages of the game's ongoing development.

HaloHubGG suggested in a tweet that extra maps were found alongside the maps we see in-game today before the game had even released, and that these maps were always intended to come after the multiplayer title's launch.

"New maps?" the tweet begins. "A while back, before the launch of the beta, data miners found a list of twenty plus maps for #Halo #HaloInfinite. We can confirm that we know of at least another ten maps in the pipeline for the game in various stages of development. More info to follow soon!"

Though we have no word on when or how the maps will come to be released, it's probably safe to assume that the new locations will filter out into the hands of players on a seasonal basis.

Much like Call of Duty, Halo Infinite has adopted the seasonal approach to video game sustainability, and it would be no surprise to see the new maps drop in small packages of between two and four maps per season - coming out as every season rolls around to keep the game exciting.

Either way, we'll be glad to see more Halo Infinite, and new maps are exactly what the game could need to keep it fresh. With all this content, and knowing that it's all completely free is a treat, it's one we won't neglect to repay with playtime.
