Even if it's the release that none of you asked for, Rockstar Games insists on giving you it anyway. While we spare a moment for Agent or Bully 2 between looking ahead at the next GTA, Grand Theft Auto V: Expanded & Enhanced is here and forcing you to part with your hard-earned cash all over again.

GTA V took us to the bustling and crime-riddled streets of Los Santos back in 2013, and over the past nine years, it's become the most profitable entertainment product of all time. Part of the title's ongoing success has been its tethering to GTA Online, but now, Rockstar is promising a whole new way to play.

How Much Will the New-Gen GTA V Cost?

It's baffling to think that GTA V is about to make its mark on a third generation of consoles, but with it sure to soar to the top of the charts, it's still a money-spinner for Rockstar. With the new-gen GTA V launching on March 15, the prices have finally made their way online

A complicated pricing structure sees 75% off on PlayStation and 50% off on Xbox - with a price hike after three months. When this was revealed on a Reddit thread, the comments soon turned heated with many still sour at the fiasco surrounding Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy and the state it arrived in at launch.

Although some said they were happy Rockstar isn't trying to get a full £70 (if not more out of us), others weren't convinced. One wrote: "Bro you mean I have to pay for the same game AGAIN just with a new shiny exterior? Bro f**k R* I'm playing hello kitty island adventure."

Another added, "It's been like 9 years, if I'm not getting a new city/story, I'm not interested," while a third concluded, "After that trilogy episode they aren't getting jack sh*t outta me." While some of us are impressed with a lower price tag than expected, we're struggling to keep track of what will cost what... and when.

Is GTA V Cheaper On Different Platforms?

Refusing to offer parity across the board, it also sounds like Expanded & Enhanced will be cheaper on PlayStation than Xbox. As reported by VGC, the PS5 Story Mode is available via the PlayStation Store for pre-order at $9.99/£8.75.

If you're an Xbox Series X/S owner, you can buy Story Mode and GTA Online for $19.99/£17.49, or just online for $9.99/£8.99 (but it also requires Xbox Live Gold). This means Sony stans will get the whole package for around half what Xbox owners will have to stump up.

Are you confused? Yep, us as well. Namely, the general discourse surrounding the new-gen GTA V is whether we're going to be struck by just another GTA Trilogy. It's clear the spectre of Grove Street Games' maligned port is still hanging over the series, and as we're left twiddling our thumbs for GTA 6, here's hoping Expanded & Enhanced can prove its worth. Don't hold your breath.
