We're "overflowing" with excitement, as Respawn Entertainment has just revealed a brand-new map for Apex Legends Arenas. Although there were the typical dataminers leaking the news ahead of time, fans have just got their first official look at how Overflow will look in the superstar shooter.

Summer is upon us, and with this in mind, Respawn is cranking up the heat on Overflow.

Giving a new twist on the whole "floor is lava" trope, Overflow is a fiery new map that's sure to push Apex players to the limit and have them fighting for rewards.

What is the new Apex Legends overflow map?

Showcasing Overflow in a blog post and glossy trailer, Electronic Arts revealed what Respawn has been working on. In the official Overflow post, EA explained, how this is a lane-focused map. With distinct areas being blocked off by shooting spouts of lava, it means "players cannot easily spot early decisions made by the other team and will need to stay vigilant before committing to a side or risk being flanked".

In terms of what else Thrillseekers brings to the table, there are three reward tracks that rotate on a weekly basis. If you reach the end of a section, you'll be rewarded with 3,000 Challenge Points. Fans can also earn up to 1,000 Challenge Points each day through specific event challenges.

There are two POIs on Overflow, with player splitting their time between Overlook and Slope. Overlook is a high and open area that is a sniper's paradise, while Slope is another elevated terrain that allows you to slide down a ramp into a secret area of the map that can be "used for sneaky flanks or defensive setups where players may not expect it".

When will you able to play the Apex Legends Overflow map?

As previously mentioned, Overflow goes live on Arenas from July 13. All rewards will be available until August 3, so you'd better believe that things are going to heat up quick on this lava-locked level.

There's plenty to get you jumping into action on Overflow. If you want to know what's on offer from each of the reward tracks, we've got the scoop:

  • Week one gives you a chance to unlock the Rampart Wastelander Set, which includes a matching gun charm, weapon skin, and a Legendary Rampart skin.
  • Week two grants Battle Pass boosters, crafting metals, and Apex packs.
  • Week three includes the Lethal Enforcer Bangalore Skin, along with other goodies!

Finally, the Summer Splash sale has a tonne of rare skins like Bloodhound's Young Blood and Wraith’s Voidwalker, so grab them until July 27. It's all-go in Apex right now. We're still making the most of the Genesis event until Thrillseekers takes over next Tuesday. Genesis has brought back the OG Kings Canyon and World's Edge, however, you'll soon be able to try something spicier with Overflow.
