Grab your lapis lazuli, rose quartz, and selenite, because we're getting all sparkly in The Sims 4 with its next Stuff Pack, aptly named Crystal Creations.

Stuff Packs have been an incredibly rare DLC type in the game over the past years, but it seems that it's seeing a resurgence following on from the previous Home Chef Hustle Pack.

Crystal Creations will let your Sims craft wearable jewellery to deck themselves out in, but there also looks like there's a new crystalline plant type that'll be available too, plus something involving everyone's favourite Grim Reaper.

When does Crystal Creations release in The Sims 4?

If you gasped at the reveal for the Pack as I did, you'll be very happy to know that Crystal Creations will drop in The Sims 4 on February 29, 2024, on its usual platforms - that's just over a week away at the time of writing.

I'll make sure to keep this page updated with any additional details leading up to Crystal Creation's launch - and I'll be reviewing the Pack too (like I did with Castle Estate and Goth Galore) to let you know my thoughts, so make sure to come back around the release to see what I think!

What new content is there?

As shown in a trailer that was published on The Sims' YouTube channel on February 20, 2024, and the official blog post, Crystal Creations highlighted many different things for Simmers to get excited about.

Of course, the pièce de résistance involves those sparkly minerals that plenty of people (myself included) like to collect in real life: crystals! Adding a new Gemology Skill, Simmers can collect different crystals and metals that they can then use to make jewellery (that can be worn and sold) or displayed around the home.

Perhaps most interesting - at least for me - is that over 1,000 different "permeations" can be made and that crystals can affect Sim's moods, careers, and relationships - so perhaps they'll act similarly to items that have an emotional Aura around them?

Alongside this, here's what else is set to drop with the Pack:

  • A Crystal Tree
  • Crystals can be charged (or recharged) on a Crystal Charging Grid, tying in with Lunar Cycles
  • Gems can be cut into shapes like hearts and Plumbobs (I'd expect nothing less)
  • Metals like Gold, Rose Gold, and Silver, and already existing metals can also be used
  • Sims can craft bracelets, earrings, necklaces, and rings
  • The Gemology Table, where you can craft and cut gems
  • Three new crystals: Amber, Jade, Moonstone

Is there a trailer for Crystal Creations?

I've already broken down some of what you can expect to see arrive in The Sims 4 with Crystal Creations, but there are plenty of gorgeous CAS and Build/Buy items to check over in the reveal trailer too:

In it, we see two Sims and their journey to ultimate crystal-dom, with clips showing off all of the new items to check out. If you're a fan of Realm of Magic like I am (most of my Sims, including my Simself, are Spellcasters), this looks like a brilliant accompaniment to that.

A lot of the decor looks like it'd fit right in Glimmerbrook or even Forgotten Hollow, with a beautiful arched window and a particular dark green swatch for the new Gemology Table - and what looks to be a dresser - that I love.

The trailer also showcased something happening between a Sim and the Grim Reaper, but I haven't been able to come across any details just yet as to what this could be:

How much will Crystal Creations cost in The Sims 4?

Typically, Pack types in The Sims 4 are the same price for each new launch, meaning that it'll be around £8.99 / $9.99 depending upon your particular region in the world. If this isn't the case, I'll let you know as we get closer to release.
