The Drive Rush system in Street Fighter 6 gives you five different opportunities to switch up the battle. You can absorb an attack with a counter, parry attacks, create Overdrive arts, sprint towards the opponent, and reverse incoming strikes. Each of these Drive Rush abilities is reliant on a meter called the Drive Gauge

If you use too many Drive Rush moves like parries, for example, you'll see the Drive Gauge lower. You want to avoid getting it low. If your character is pushed too far, they'll be stunned, opening up attacks for your opponent. "Understanding the system in-depth, including when to be conservative and when to gamble, allows for deep, high-level battles," says Capcom on the official Street Fighter 6 website.

For more information on the Drive Rush system and how each ability is input and works, you should check out the tutorial under "Fighting Ground" and then "Practice." Then, select Tutorials. "Drive Gauge Actions." will give you a decent understanding of the subject matter.
