Ghostwire Tokyo: Release time, how to preload, file size & early access
For fans of The Evil Within series, the Ghostwire Tokyo release date cannot come soon enough. Ghostwire Tokyo is the latest AAA title launch for PlayStation 5, promising some kick-ass - and magical - first-person gameplay, all set in a folklore-inspired Toyko. But when can players expect to get their hands on the latest PlayStation console exclusive? And how much of a dent will it leave in those piggy banks? We've got everything you need to know about the Ghostwire Tokyo release date, as well as how you can get the game a few days early.
Ghostwire Tokyo Release date, time & how to preload
Click to enlargeThe Ghostwire Tokyo release date isn't too far away for those dying to get their hands on this supernatural horror with the game releasing worldwide on Friday, March 25, and you will be able to preload the game from March 22. Purchasers of the Deluxe Edition can preload from March 20 (more on that below).
The game will receive a staggered release time, with the game launching in the following time zones:
- 1 am BST
- 2 am CEST
- 5 pm PST
- 8 pm EST
- 10 am AEST
If you have purchased a PlayStation 5 digital copy of the game, you can follow these instructions to successfully preload.
- Boot up your PlayStation 5.
- Head to the PlayStation library.
- Navigate to the “Purchased” games tab.
- Locate Ghostwire Tokyo.
- Click “Download”.
- And you are done! Ghostwire Tokyo will begin preloading and be available to play as soon as the game is released on March 25.
The game is approx 20GB, so not too hefty, but may still require you to free up some space on your console.
Ghostwire Tokyo price & early access
Click to enlargeAs has been the case with some other AAA PlayStation titles, you may be worried about the Ghostwire Tokyo price. Luckily, the game will not be following in the footsteps of titles such as Deathloop, Returnal, and Horizon Forbidden West.
The price of the base game will come in at $59.99/£59.99, with the deluxe edition bumping things up to $79.99/£79.99. The deluxe edition does come with additional cosmetics, an exclusive in-game weapon, and three days early access, meaning you can start playing on March 22.
