Fire Emblem Engage appeals to all sorts of strategy RPG gamers. The varying difficulties of Normal all the way to Maddening make sure that you're getting a challenging experience in Fire Emblem Engage. However, there is a way to make it more challenging by selecting Classic Mode. Here is the difference between the Casual and Classic Mode in Fire Emblem Engage

The Fire Emblem series is known for dramatic storylines and intense battles in warscapes. Fire Emblem Engage is no different. What will make the strategy game tenser is the Classic Mode. In this setting, the characters that fall in battle, due to the smarts of the AI, will die in the game. In this instance, they give a tragic goodbye as they fade out of existence. They cannot be talked to or used in battle ever again, even the characters that have an S or A relationship with Alear. If you keep losing forces, your playthrough may be at stake.

However, when your characters die in the Casual mode, they will flee in shame instead of dying on the spot. They can still be talked to in Somniel and will once again fight for the good of the world in your party. It will be much easier to go through the Tempest Trials in Casual Mode.

Something that makes Classic so much less challenging than prior entries, however, is the ability to rewind time. If you go to the main battle menu, you can use the Draconic Time Crystal to go back to a turn before you make a horrible decision. In harder difficulties like Hard or Maddening, you're only limited to using the item 10 times per battle. In Casual mode, you can use the Draconic Time Crystal as many times as you'd like, reducing the emotional stakes of each battle.

If you want a more relaxing experience with the mainline title Fire Emblem Engage, we recommend picking Casual. If you want to have some repercussions during your playthrough, Classic is the way to go.
