Destiny 2 Lost Sectors are mini-dungeons dotted around the various worlds, which have a significant purpose for improving your character. Destiny 2 adds new exotic armour every now and then, and for the most part, you can only get the new pieces through Legend or Master difficulty Lost Sectors.

Legend and Master Lost Sectors rotate each day, and during Season of the Deep we can expect to find them on the Moon, in the Cosmodrome, and in Savathun's Throne World.

Here is everything you need to know about the Destiny 2 Lost Sector today (August 1), as well as the Legend and Master Lost Sector rotations and rewards to be earned in the game.

Today's Lost Sector is the Sepulcher which is found in Savathun's Throne World. If you know your stuff, then you know where you need to go. If you need directions, those are below.

  • To reach this Lost Sector, head to the Florescent Canal
  • Go to the west side of the large structure at the centre of the area
  • Go under the arches there to find the Lost Sector entrance

The Lost Sector's flag is beside the entrance. If you have not completed the Lost Sector before then enter it and complete it, after which the flag will appear outside.

For those of you who like to plan ahead, here are all of the Lost Sectors in the Legend and Master rotation for this week. Some are easier than others, and each one grants only one kind of armour, so be sure to pick your battles where you can.

Here is the Destiny 2 Legend and Master rotation for the week:

Lost Sector Date Reward
Sepulcher 1 August Boots
Extraction 2 August Arms
Aphelion's Rest 3 August Chest
Chamber of Starlight 4 August Helmet
Bay of Drowned Wishes 5 August Boots
Veles Labyrinth 6 August Arms
Exodus Garden 2A 7 August Chest

The Master Lost Sector today is also Sepulcher in Savathun's Throne World. As it happens, the Legend and Master Lost Sectors are always the same, so there's no need to look for one or the other.

While you can tackle the daily Lost Sector rotation on either difficulty, for the most part, you are better off sticking with Legend. There is a slightly higher chance of getting an exotic drop on Master, but the difference is negligible. Master Lost Sectors are extremely high level - way beyond just hitting the Pinnacle cap.

Aside from the power difference, there are also more Champions to contend with in Master Lost Sectors. If you want the extra challenge then, by all means, go for it. Just know that if your only aim is to get exotic armour, you should stick with Legend difficulty.

Today, Unstoppable and Barrier Champions are on the menu. Be sure to configure your loadout to include means of dealing with both, as you will not be able to change it after you start the Lost Sector.

Then for your modifiers, you're going to be taking extra Solar damage, while dishing out more Strand and Arc damage.

Overcharged Weapons will grant bonus damage to your kinetic weapons and to your fusion rifles, and Fire Pit will have defeated Acolytes dropping pools of fire when they die.

Exotic boots are up for grabs in today's Legend and Master Lost Sector.

Completing a Lost Sector on Legend of Master does not guarantee a specific piece of armour or even an exotic drop, but they are quite likely to happen. Each Lost Sector grants one type of armour, and you will only get armour that is applicable to the character you are currently playing.

Destiny 2 Lost Sectors: What They Are And How To Find Them

Every open-world space in Destiny 2 has several Lost Sectors dotted around them. Lost Sectors have a particular symbol (pictured above), you can see it on the map indicating their locations. Use the symbol on the map to find the location, then look for the symbol on a wall that indicates the entrance to the Lost Sector.

Destiny 2 Lost Sectors function like short little dungeon areas. They occasionally have some extra mechanics but for the most part, they just involve fighting through a large group of enemies and defeating a boss at the end.

Defeating the boss unlocks the chest, where you can grab your reward. Regular completions don't award you with much beyond the early game, but completing Lost Sectors on Legend or Master difficulty can award you exotic armour.

That is it for our Destiny 2 Legend and Master Lost Sector rotation guide for today. For more on the game, check out our Destiny homepage, or our in-depth walkthrough of the Destiny 2 Root of Nightmares raid.
