Respawn Entertainment is kicking off the new year in style with a brand new, stacked event in the form of Apex Legends Dark Depth. Apex Legends has often sprinkled its quarterly seasons with limited time events, which tend to include new skins, maps, and even modes. But what is Dark Depths bringing to the table with just weeks until the launch of Season 12? Here's everything that is arriving in the game thanks to the  Apex Legends Dark Depths event.

Apex Legends Dark Depths Event: When Does It Start?

The Apex Legends Dark Depths event is kicking off on January 11, and will continue on through until February 1. This means that the event will nicely see out the majority of what's left of Season 11, with Season 12 due to launch just one week later on February 8. Across the three weeks of the event there will be three flash events that will allow players to earn free cosmetics.

Ever since launching during Season Nine, Arenas has been an often underrated gem within Apex Legends that has steadily built out its collection of small maps. Apex Legends Dark Depths brings the latest edition in the form of Habitat. This new map takes after Storm Point, the tropical island that launched this season. It seems as though, controversially the map will include a "Nest" hinting at the prowlers that attack players on Storm Point. We will see how well this will go down with the community if it turns out to be the case, as being taken out by a creature on the last round of Arenas is really going to be infuriating.

As is the norm for the seasonal events, the Apex Legends Dark Depths event comes with some stellar skins and cosmetics that you are going to want to snap up. Fuse is front and centre on this one with his Broseidon bundle, however Ash, Lifeline and Horizon will also receive gold tier skins. There will be some additional skins available throughout the event like the Siren's Song bundle for the R99 SMG.

Apex Legends Dark Depths Event: No Limited Time Mode

Unlike during previous events, the Apex Legends Dark Depths event will not feature a limited time mode. The modes aren't always guaranteed but we have seen the likes of the Shadow Royale event at Halloween and Gold Rush a couple of years back.

That's everything you need to know about the Apex Legend Dark Depths event. This will be a great opportunity to dive into the game and round out those battle passes, but remember both the Apex Legends Rampage and Sentinel are currently removed from the game due to a charging exploit.
