Amazon users have been urged to check their delivery date for the Xbox Series X, as they issue a warning that orders may be delayed due to "high demand".

Much like their message to customers who have pre-ordered the Playstation 5, Amazon may delay some consoles due to the number of orders and deliveries.

An email sent out by Amazon Customer Service has warned anyone who has pre-ordered the Xbox Series X that they may not be receiving the console on November 10, the day of the launch.

The email states: "We're contacting you about your order of the Xbox Series X to let you know that you may not receive this item on the day it is released due to high demand. We are making every effort with the sup[plier to procure more inventory. We will provide additional updates once more information is available.", before giving information on how to track your purchase.

This doesn't mean that your order will be cancelled, it merely indicates that there is a chance your next-generation console will be delivered after the launch date. As reliable couriers, Amazon will likely only delay some orders by a day or two as they prepare to dish out thousands of consoles worldwide.

So far, this only applies to the Xbox Series X, and not the Series S, where all pre-orders for the smaller console look set to be delivered on time. The demand for the larger console looks to be much higher, hence the potential delay.

Gamers who are worried that it may be their Xbox which is delayed can track their order through the email, the website, or the app. You can check the expected delivery date, and therefore keep an eye on when your console will be presented to you at your door.
