The Helldivers 2 community has made it clear that they're willing to complete any task to spread democracy across the galaxy.

Well, almost any task, unless it involves the Citizen Evac missions, which have been described as "infuriating" and borderline "impossible" at higher difficulties.

The main issue with these objectives is the punishing Automaton spawns and the fact that the citizens you're meant to be saving do their very best to get themselves killed.

After countless complaints, the devs have finally responded and acknowledged that these missions are a serious problem.

Helldivers 2 devs acknowledge Citizen Evac missions are a problem

The days of frustrating Citizen Evac missions may be coming to a close, as a dev on the Helldivers 2 Discord has acknowledged the fact that they're "impossible on higher difficulty levels."

Thanking fans for their "feedback," Arrowhead Studios "agrees 100%" that Citizen Evac missions are overturned, and it's going to "adjust these in the near future."

This will be music to the ears of Helldivers across the galaxy, as countless players have put their foot down and are now refusing to even participate in the objective when it's available on the map.

It'll be interesting to see how devs adjust the difficulty, with fans speculating that the enemy count will be reduced or spawns may need to be moved. Others think the team should scrap the mission type completely, but that's very unlikely to happen.

Alongside difficulty adjustments, Citizen Evac missions also need a little TLC in the bug department as well, with players complaining the objective will just randomly break.

According to them, after hitting 45 Citizens as the mission requires, it just refuses to complete, forcing them to leave after one of the toughest skirmishes they've ever experienced with no reward.

"Literally we hit 45/45 on Impossible and the mission didn't complete, failed that operation, It's such a stupid mission... I'm fine with shit being hard but that was such a letdown."

A response from the devs is a positive step, as it shows they're aware of the problem and not burying their head in the sand. Let's hope this pesky objective is fixed ASAP - punishing and hard missions are fine, but no objective should ever feel impossible.
