In any given time in Warzone, there's always one weapon at the top of the meta that the majority of players are using.
For a while now, that's been the MTZ Interceptor, a rifle that absolutely tears foes down at long range with ease. With the devs promising nerfs to the weapon in the January 11 patch, competitors were expecting the MTZ Interceptor to be significantly less powerful.
Unfortunately, following the update, the gun seems just as strong as before, and the community is convinced the changes "did nothing."
MTZ Interceptor hit with damage nerfs in latest Warzone patch
On January 11, the MTZ Interceptor was hit with a set of nerfs that the devs were hoping would take it down a peg in terms of its power from a distance.
This included reducing its maximum damage from 95 to 85, and reducing its minimum damage from 84 to 78.
At first, this seems like a pretty huge change to the Marksman Rifle, and one that should create more space in the meta for other options to rise up.
Well, players have got their hands on the MTZ Interceptor again, and they're convinced it's still OP and the changes "did nothing."
Warzone players convinced MTZ Interceptor is still "god tier"

As showcased by ModernWarzone, Mason "Symfuhny" Lanier immediately started using the MTZ following the nerf and was still insta-killing foes out of the sky.
This sparked a response from fans who are tired of OP weapons being left in the game for long periods of time, and claim it always takes the devs multiple attempts to get the balancing right on a gun.
"Literally takes them 3 tries every single nerf, it’s wild," said one user, with another asking, "Are we surprised that they didn’t get it right?".
As disappointing as it may be for some competitors, it looks like the MTZ Interceptor meta is staying for a little while longer, so make sure to keep the gun in your loadout list.
