After Warzone's integration with Modern Warfare 3 brought a huge amount of new weapons to the arsenal, they've quickly eclipsed the power of MW2's options.

Whether it's the powerhouse Pulemyot 762 LMG or the lethal WSP Swarm SMG with its devastating TTK, Urzikstan is being taken over by MW3 weapons.

There's one specific rifle that's become an absolute menace at long-range, and that's the MTZ Interceptor. Similar to the DMR of old from Verdansk, players have been crying out for a nerf to this gun, and Raven Software has finally answered.

Raven Software confirm MTZ Interceptor nerf is coming in Warzone

As showcased by popular Call of Duty account CharlieINTEL, Raven Software has confirmed it's seen the community's "questions about weapon balance" and has revealed that a balance update is coming next week.

Not only that, it also dropped the news that the MTZ Interceptor would be hit with the nerf hammer, but the details remain under wraps at the moment.

It's likely going to be a damage nerf to make it less potent from afar, but it also could be a change to its recoil to make it harder to use.

There's also speculation from fans that the WSP Swarm and Pulemyot could also be altered in the patch, but that hasn't been confirmed just yet.

Warzone fans "thank god" MTZ Interceptor's power is being reduced

It's safe to say the MTZ Interceptor was due a nerf, and it's clear the community is happy about the news, celebrating that it's going to be a major blow to "roof campers."

"The MTZ Interceptor has made the roof campers think they are the greatest players to touch the earth," said one user, with another arguing, "About time, tired of lil Timmy thinking he's good two-shotting me across the world."

While the MTZ Interceptor is nowhere near the power level of the infamous DMR, it's still infuriating to encounter. We'll just have to see whether the devs tweak it a little or completely blast it out of the meta.
