Vanguard Hackers Are Selling ‘Lifetime Access’ To CoD Cheats
We wish we could be surprised that the latest Call of Duty title is already swarming with cheaters (even before the game’s launch), but alas, here we are.
Call of Duty’s modern comeback has been stamped with a cheater problem, and it’s one that is so rampant and vicious in Warzone, it has kept the series from once again reaching its true potential.
As cheaters find a new home in Vanguard’s beta, they threaten to do the same all over again in the WWII shooter that attempts to bring something fresh to the franchise. Now, hackers are making it worth would-be cheaters' while.
Hackers Offer ‘Lifetime Access’ To Cheats
While we know Vanguard already has hackers plaguing its lobbies, chances are they’re making use of a new hack that offers a "lifetime key" to players who can cheat until their heart’s content or they’re potentially banned.
"You can use the product NOW during beta as you get your lifetime key instantly and automatically just like any other product", says Phantom Overlay (via VICE). Another company promises something similar with the notion of cheating that covers Call of Duty’s active titles.
"Our new COD Vanguard Hack will be better than our Warzone cheats and all the features will work with the new Warzone map releasing with Vanguard", claims an announcement from IWANTCHEATS reveals. Chances are this is just a bit of upselling as there are too many factors at play to make this prediction accurately. Still, they’re making big promises to wannabe cheaters.
Whether or not the effectiveness of these cheats is accurate to their description - or if these keys truly give lifetime access - remains to be seen. Either way, it's a bothering notion.
Can Vanguard’s Anti-Cheat Keep Out Lifetime Keys?
It’s hard to immediately say if these lifetime keys are going to last for the entire cycle of Vanguard, mostly because we haven’t actually seen the capabilities of Vanguard’s anti-cheat yet. The advertising of the anti-cheat as a special feature has indicated that it is ready to go, but is being withheld as means of promotion for the new game.
If this comes to be true, then Vanguard is letting cheaters run rampant for now - and that doesn’t set much of a precedent, nor does it bode well for the effectiveness of the anti-cheat itself.
It’s concerning that cheaters are already in a game that isn’t even out yet, and the fact that terms like "lifetime access" are being thrown around shows that cheater networks are confident they can topple Call of Duty’s anti-cheating measures. You don’t need us to tell you that’s bad news.
We’re hoping that Vanguard’s anti-cheat is tough - because it looks like cheaters think they’re tougher. Forget World War II, it sounds like it'll be a war of Sledgehammer and Activision versus the cheating masses.
