Caldera's swansong is coming to a high-note climax, and while the loyal subjects slide cancel around like a dancing ballet, she's preparing for her last note to be one worthy of a mic-drop.

There will be no encore for Caldera once Warzone is dead and buried, preceded by its sequel, and Season 5 brings an era filled with sweet melodies to a close.

However, paying diligence to its impressive roots, Warzone as we know it is honouring one of its most inventive ideas yet in its final hours; the OG gulag is back in Caldera, albeit with some minor changes.

The original Gulag is back... kind of

With a wealth of engaging content coming to Warzone Season 5 as a last hurrah, Caldera will now change their Gulag design once again and has now decided to bring Warzone's second-chance saloon back to its original form.

Revealed in the latest Call of Duty blog, the design of Gulag Showers from Verdansk has been reimagined for Caldera, and will be added to the map in its final season.

The map layout will see the three-lanes return, with longer lines of sights down the wings to the closed-off centre, similar to the Gulag showers back in Verdansk's first iteration.

Caldera Map Changes In Warzone Season 5

As well as the adaptations to the Gulag, Caldera is preparing for its heroes vs villains event by already starting the beginning of the end. The map is under fire and is set to go out in flames.

One of the other major changes to the Caldera map in its final season is the destruction of Peak. Much akin to other ruined landscapes Warzone has made in the past, Peak will still be a landing spot for players, although the molten lava from the erupted volcano will pour through the paths and destroyed buildings, and you won't want to step foot in it.

If you do step in the lava though, at least you and the squad will be able to launch rocks at each other in the OG Gulag, just like old times.
