Steam Game Festival Is Releasing Hundreds Of Game Demos
Starting on October 7, Valve has released "hundreds of game demos" as part of the Steam Game Festival Autumn Edition. Alongside a number of attractions, the fourth edition of Steam's game festival will allow gamers to trial a variety of new games, read and listen to a range of in-depth interviews with game developers, and watch high-quality streamers.
The official Game Festival site opens a portal showing featured live streamers try these new game demos, with a schedule of interviews from their developers following. As of writing, there is just shy of 70,000 concurrent views, all learning about Stronghold: Warlords - one of the hundreds of beta tests.
Valve describes the festival as "a celebration where fans can try out demos, chat with developers, watch live streams, and learn about upcoming games on Steam. For developers, the Steam Game Festival is an opportunity to get early feedback from players and build an audience for future releases".
With the games split into categories such as "Action", "RPG", and "Sports & Racing" the festival offers something for everyone.
Some featured games consist of the likes of "Backbone", which is a demo of a dystopian noir adventure which plays in a two-dimensional style, investigating the streets as "racoon private eye Howard Lotor". "Red Solstice 2: Survivors", comes as a sequel to its "best-selling" predecessor, which boast a hawk-eye MOBA where you operate a real-time tactical battlefield with up to seven other squad members. Other games such as "Party Animals", "Ghostrunner", "The Survivalists", and "Xuan-Yuan Sword" are amongst the most popular games of the festival thus far, although you may be able to find many hidden gems amongst the store.
The festival runs until October 13, where these demos will go off for a final polish before their full release on the platform.
