Spider-Gwen Is Swinging Into Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4
The theme for Fortnite's new season is… strange, to say the least. Chapter 3 Season 3 sees players simply vibing - hanging out and beaming enemies with something of a laid-back attitude. It's chilled-out fun, but it seems that's over now, as a mysterious goo (goop? Gloop? It's unclear) has taken over the island and is consuming everything in sight.
And now, as the season is getting teased online, we've got a small look at one of the characters coming to the game. We're reopening the Spider-Verse in Fortnite, and this time, Spider-Gwen is swinging into action.
Is Spider-Gwen In Fortnite?
Click to enlargeJoining the long line of web-slingers in the battle royale titan, it looks like Gwen Stacy herself will be making her grand arrival on the island in Fortnite during the upcoming season.
New promo images have been revealed to bolster the new season, with the hands of new playable skins bursting out from a sea of miscellaneous goo. Among them is a gloved hand that is unmistakably that of Spider-Gwen, the Multiverse's iteration of the wall-crawler taken up by Gwen Stacy, who you might recognise from her most famous appearance in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
Her arrival leads fans to expect that she'll be the final character in the game's Battle Pass, which for the past few seasons has had a habit of featuring Marvel characters - but we'll just have to wait and see if this becomes the case.
When Does Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 Start?
Waiting to find out is irritating, of course, but thankfully we don't actually have that long to wait until the fourth season is in our laps. Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 is officially launching on Sunday, September 18. The goo is already crawling across the island, and when the new season drops, we'll see the extent of the damage that it has done to the island.
We've already seen a tonne of Spider-Man skins like MJ, Peter Parker, and Green Goblin, but as soon as the first came out, we've been asking where Spider-Gwen is. It's nice to see some more Spider-Verse rep in Fortnite, and given its mashup of visual styles, Spider-Gwen's arrival seems perfect for the game. Let's do Miles Morales next, yeah, Epic Games?
