Battlefield 2042 feels like it’s been a long time coming. Though its announcement wasn’t actually that long ago, a lot of hope has rested on the shoulders of the futuristic shooter. For the first time in years, it is in a position to officially compete with Call of Duty

The next-gen shooter could begin with Battlefield 2042, and as such, it carries the pressure of the genre. But, even before the official announcement, people have been excited to see what DICE would turn out next. In a creepy turn, one YouTube commenter predicted the game’s arrival long before it was announced.

YouTuber Predicts Battlefield 2042 Before Announcement

Long before Battlefield 2042 ever saw an announcement (or even a teaser), one YouTube comment was somehow able to foresee the arrival of a Battlefield game that was, not only a realistic vision of the future of war, but also the game’s title.

In response to a comment of someone expressing their high hopes for whatever Battlefield had up their sleeves, YouTuber KaiserWilhelmTheInfinite replied "I’m hoping for a semi-futuristic BF game like 2142 but on a lesser scale, Battlefield 2042". That's all well and good, but remember the comment was posted… 11 months ago. Shudder.

Fans React To Prophetic Battlefield Comment

After the comment was shared to the Battlefield2042 subreddit, fans have been reasonably freaked out by the prophetic vision, with some comparing his foresight with that of a Jedi. "He can see things before they happen it’s a jedi trait", says one commenter.

“KaiserWilhelmTheInfinite called it, he must feel good" said another, and we’re inclined to agree - despite our newfound fear of the YouTuber. What else does he know? This feels like the start of a thriller where someone is called in to help predict a series of mysterious deaths, only with Kaiser Wilhelm as its star.

Even though The Simpsons is frequently prophecised as "predicting" the future, it's just a rare case of coincidence. Then again, what if the OP has actually come from the future? Why didn't you want us about COVID? This is a freaky anomaly and not one we’re likely to forget - now we just need the commenter to tell us what the next Call of Duty title is going to look like.
