Since Bethesda Studios were acquired by Microsoft, the tech masters have been stirring in the wings, silently going about their business before surprising fans with a range of new opportunities to get hold of some of their classic titles.

The developers recently rolled out many titles onto the Xbox Game Pass, and have been chugging away at their progress on the long-awaited Starfield project.

With another "Unannounced Title" title in the works from the studios, the devs may now be a little bit red in the face, as Xbox's Head of Services, Ben Decker, has dropped a bomb on one of their main franchises.

Speaking about the Xbox Game Pass, Decker let slip that a new Fallout game could be on its way.

New Fallout Game Planned for Xbox?

Decker said "Fifty-five per cent of those surveyed said the main reason that they joined [Game Pass] is to get new games at release - that day one content. That's why we made the investments that we have,

"We have 23 studios across Xbox and Bethesda, working on Halo, Forza, Fallout, and new IP that we haven't even talked about yet that is gonna blow your mind. We can deliver all of that into Game Pass on day one."

Obviously, Halo Infinite is well underway in terms of development by 343 Industries, and the latest addition to the Forza Motorsport franchise was announced during Microsoft's Xbox Games Showcase on July 23.

However, no word has yet to be spoken about a Fallout 5 - until now.

Is Fallout 5 In development?

As to whether Bethesda and Microsoft are working on the fifth title in Fallout's main series is yet to be confirmed, although from Decker's comments about us being mindblown it could be rather likely.

The studios could be working on another spin-off title though. Having most recently released a successful Fallout 76 title on top of the New Vegas instalment, another title straying away from the 1997 franchise could be possible.

Either way, it looks like Microsoft have a few tricks up their sleeve.
