Fans Prove Modern Warfare 2019's Post-Launch Was Way Better Than MW2

Amid a delay for Modern Warfare 2 Season 2, fans are becoming increasingly worried about the state of multiplayer.

Now, comparisons between the current title and its 2019 predecessor have shown a massive decline in post-launch content.

Loyal multiplayer fans have seen the blunt end of what Warzone and DMZ have to offer, having their content stripped away in favour of the free-to-play models.

But after seeing just how much content is actually missing when compared to the schedule three years ago, MW2 fans are outraged.

Modern Warfare 2019 Had Nearly Double The Dev Support Than MW2

So far, only a total of 18 maps are available in Modern Warfare 2, plenty of which have been heavily criticised and need fixing.

In comparison, by this time in Modern Warfare 2019's lifetime, there were already 32 maps in rotation. This gave players one of the most diverse map palettes the franchise has ever seen.

Albeit some of the 32 maps included gunfight selections like Speedball and King, the lack of maps added to MW2 has become evidently scarce and is having an effect on its players.

'Live Service has destroyed Gaming' Claim MW2 Fans

After implementing "live service" into Call of Duty (the process of having free seasonal content), Modern Warfare 2 fans feel like this has been downscaled significantly over the years - resulting in incomplete game launches.

"The real issue I feel is when these companies strip away base game features and drip feed them into the game," said one angered fan on Twitter, pointing out that post-launch content should add to a full game, not be held back content that will finally make a full game.

Modern Warfare 2019 was slammed for its questionable gameplay features back in the day, which have also been repeated in MW2. Still, at least it had variety. It's clear to see why MW2 players are becoming increasingly frustrated.
