It wouldn't be Modern Warfare 2 without sniping being its heart and soul. Yes, the developers don't want to completely rip off the old game and release a remastered version of the one that was released in 2009, but it's Modern Warfare 2 nonetheless, and if they're adding Highrise as a Warzone 2 POI, they need a sniper that can live up to expectations.

It's not a hunt that takes too long either, as the best sniper in Call of Duty history is right down their scope.

Ahead of the multiplayer reveal of Modern Warfare 2, leaks have now suggested that the Intervention is coming back to the franchise for the first time in 13 years.

Modern Warfare 2 To Bring Back The Intervention

Although it came back in some capacity during the Infinite Warfare era as the TF-141 (named after the infamous Task Force 141), the Intervention hasn't been in the series properly since becoming famous in MW2

Despite being the most-loved sniper in CoD history, or at least top two alongside the Barratt .50cal, fans have never been graced with the bolt-action gun again, until now.

For those who may have been pre-dated by the Intervention boasts a bolt-action core and was known for its power and high mobility, perfect for 360 trick shots and quick scopes.

Modern Warfare 2 Snipers Leaked

Alongside the Intervention, another highly mobile sniper is also leaked to be within the game, returning from the prequel to Modern Warfare 2. Fresh from Warzone, the AX-50 is reportedly one of the other snipers, which is making for quite a tantalising lineup for quick scope devotees.

Surely some duffers like the Dragunov will fill the lowest tier of sniper, as always, although it looks like it's going to be a great year for throwbacks and nostalgic one-shot kills.

Whether or not you'll be quite as effective quick scoping off Highrise in Warzone as you were back in 2009, maybe you'll be able to turn back the years on Favela or Quarry, which are set to be multiplayer maps that can return the Intervention to its former glory.
