Call of Duty's bugs and glitches are a total nightmare for players, but they're unavoidable at this stage. Fans have been hoping that the introduction of a new game would herald the next era of bug-free FPS gameplay. Sadly, it's not looking like we're getting that just yet, but we have to be at least a little forgiving given that the game is still in its beta testing phase.

It looks like Infinity Ward is hoping to iron out the Call of Duty kinks in gameplay right now, and so far it's working. Sadly, players are having to wade through the bugs themselves to find them, all the while trying their best to enjoy the game for what it is at the moment. And a new glitch is wreaking havoc in lobbies everywhere.

What Is The Modern Warfare 2 Bug?

That didn't take long, did it? Modern Warfare 2 has been struck by a glitch that allows sniper players to see through smoke, which has led to snipers becoming something of an in-game meta.

The glitch has been shared on Reddit by user GT-RANZ, and shows that the mere act of zooming in on a sniper scope makes all of the smoke simply vanish, allowing them a clear line of sight.

This is a huge problem for Call of Duty, as in many ways, the smoke bomb is the only thing that allows players any cover from raining sniper fire. Games are being dominated by snipers as a result, and suddenly, the sniper reigns supreme.

When Is The Sniper Smoke Glitch Getting Fixed?

Thankfully, as we're in beta testing for Modern Warfare 2 right now, it appears that the game could be on for a bug fix very soon. The teams at Infinity Ward are on the ball with glitches and the like in lobbies, and looking at the way that the beta has been working so far, it's likely that the bug could be fixed by next week.

Now that the Modern Warfare 2 sniper bug has been highlighted, we imagine the team will be quick to patch it out for fear we'll get another Warzone stim glitch that is buried in the very core of the 2022 title.  Even so, in the meantime, we're likely going to get dominated by snipers, and we're just going to have to put up with it. Fun.
