GGRecon proudly presents the mini-documentary "Learning To Win Again -  The Story Of The Florida Mayhem And OGE"

After a rough first two seasons in the Overwatch League, the Florida Mayhem bounced back impressively in season 3, finishing in 4th place in the North American region and 6th in the overall season rankings. Now going into season 4, the team has even higher ambitions, looking towards stage titles and a deep run in the season playoffs. However, with the departure of some of their starting players such as main tank Pan-seung "Fate" Koo, the Mayhem had to find a replacement. GGRecon asked the architects behind this comeback and the plans for season 4 about for their story. Team Manager Jade “swingchip” Kim, Head Coach Dae-kuk "KuKi" Kim, and General Manager Albert "yeHHH" Yeh, sat down with GGRecon to give a glimpse behind the curtain of the Florida Mayhem’s success in season 3 and their decision to recruit Min-seok "OGE" Son as their only starting main tank in season 4.

"So first season it was like: Okay, we're really bad but at least we aren't Shanghai bad," said Yeh who had been an analyst with the team at the time, sharing that it only got worse in season 2, continuing "and then second season was like: It can't worse, right? And then it got way worse!" The Mayhem finished the second season with a disappointing match score of 6-22, dead last in the Overwatch League. At least in the fourth stage, the team finally managed to show promise with a positive match record, suggesting that a redemption arc was brewing. Bringing in KuKi and his RunAway players, Jun-ki "Yaki" Kim and Nam-jin "Gangnamjin" Kang, the Mayhem told us how they turned their luck around.

Now going into season 4 and recruiting OGE as their one and only main tank, the pressure is on for the player that has always been attested to have high potential but has had an empty trophy case so far in his career. With us OGE mused about his career, how he felt playing for the Fuel and why he joined the Gladiators instead of the Mayhem, who had already been interested in the player during season 2. He also opened up about his hopes and dreams coming into the next season.
