With no Rust in Modern Warfare 2, how does a player truly figure out who is the king of Call of Duty?

One-versus-one combat is the true test of a champion, and after years of fighting to the death on the ladder-stalling Rust, Modern Warfare 2019 introduced another way to put our raw skills to the test.

Gunfight brought together everything great about 1v1's: harnessing the entire weapon arsenal, flexing on your opponent, and smack-talking your way to victory. Now, it's all set to return for Modern Warfare 2.

Gunfight Leaked For Modern Warfare 2

With Modern Warfare 2 Season 1 coming in just a matter of weeks, new maps and operators have already been leaked.

But now, it appears we will be gifted some iconic game modes, including the beloved Gunfight. As usual, dataminers have been diving deep into the code and have seemingly unearthed references to gun game and gunfight.

The addition of Gunfight must also mean we're due a range of small-based maps. It's likely that Shipment will be one of these tiny enclosures, but snippets of other multiplayer maps may feature in this game mode too.

Modern Warfare 2 To Add Gun Game Too

Alongside Gunfight, dataminers have also found files containing Gun Game too, meaning that the progressive weapon mastery minigame will also arrive in Season 2, if the leaks come true.

This popular game has long been a fun way of adding randomness and adrenaline to the free-for-all mode, where players race to prove their overall dominance in Call of Duty.

With Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 on the horizon for February 1, it seems like Infinity Ward is really pushing for ways to make players feel like champions within that game.

We can't wait to take up Gunfight to silence a hater and better our pals, or head to Gun Game to prove to the world you're not just a one-trick pony.
