Life, uh, finds a way. While we might have to wait until June for the release of Jurassic World DominionFortnite is getting in on the prehistoric action early with the return of Klombos. Even though these supersized dinosaurs went into hibernation at the start of Chapter 3 Season 2, they're ready to wake up from their nap.

Unlike the loot-dropping crows or sharks, Klombos are a relatively new addition to the Fortnite meta. Arriving with the revamped and flipped map, these gentle giants would spit out loot, provide rotation, and bring Klomberries to the game as a handy health snack. They disappeared without much of a sound, but now, they're ready to roar their way back into battle.

What's Going On With Klombos?

Given that Klomberries are already popping up on the map alongside the Fortnite secret Klombo quest, it's not exactly a surprise that Klombos are rising from their underground slumber. According to noted leaker HYPEX, Klombos are on their way back... and this time, you can kill them. So, let's put Klombo in our crosshairs.

Previously, the usually placid Klombo would go into a Hulk-inspired rage if you shot at them. They'd launch fireballs and charge at you, but no matter how much ammo you unloaded into them, you'd be unable to bring them down. Hypex explains, "Epic are working on making Klombos killable, as of now they’re working on making them drop a special version of meat and 15 different types of loot." This would fit with another recent leak that "NPC meat" is on the way. Don't worry, we won't be chowing down on Fishstick.

News that Klombos are coming back is great, however, others were less impressed that the map will soon become a Klombo graveyard. "I can't kill a Klombo," mourned one, while another added, "You just KNOW they will make it a challenge at some point." Someone else concluded, "Killing a Klombo should mark you as visible to all players for the rest of the game. And give them a bounty for you, even if they already have one. Unforgivable sin."

Could Klombos Mean The End Of Tilted Towers?

Others think killable Klombos could spell trouble for the fan-favourite Tilted Towers. Back in January, the official Fortnite account tweeted that if anything ever happened to Klombos, Epic would destroy Tilted Towers. Now that you can kill a Klombo, it might bring together all those rumours about Tilted being wiped off the map... again. We've previously speculated that the crashing blimps and war against the IO will lead to some POI casualties.

There's no official word from Epic - or even a date about when Klombos will be back - but expect to find out more soon. It just hasn't been the same since Klombos shuffled off the map, then again, with hunting season officially on the way, maybe they'll wish they'd stayed hidden. Will you be serving up some double Klombo cheeseburgers?
