GTA: Vice City Fans Have Finally Figured Out Who The Cover Girl Is
The classic GTA games aren't exactly the best-held-together titles in 2022, but that certainly doesn't mean that fans don't still adore them. The GTA Trilogy has a lot of flaws, but it was a love for the old days that drew us to them.
Call it nostalgia or something else, but the games are replayed time and time again, and for the most part, are held together by their characters giving charisma and detestability in equal measure to keep players engaged. Now, one mystery character from GTA: Vice City has finally been identified.
Who Is The Vice City Cover Girl?
After 20 years, fans have finally discovered the identity of the woman on the Vice City box art. The woman in the bikini with a martini in hand has confused players for two decades - supposedly because she doesn't actually appear in the game. Some Reddit users have finally been able to connect the dots.
In the comments of a post in the GTA subreddit asking the question of who she is, some users have figured it out - she's one of the two twins that you meet over the course of the story. "One of the 'twins' at the Malibu club," says one commenter. "One is a stripper, the other I'm not sure."
"Bartender at The Malibu after Tommy buys it," clarifies another. She seems like a pretty obscure character to make the poster girl of Tommy Vercetti's adventure, especially as you have to really hunt for her in Vice City. Fans are wondering if this character is modelled after anyone in real life who was supposed to be in the game. Remember though, that's run the series into trouble in the past.
Remember When Lindsey Lohan Sued GTA V?
Here's hoping the Vice City cover woman isn't anyone's likeness, because it's caused trouble for the franchise before. Back in 2013, Linsey Lohan attempted to enact a lawsuit against Take-Two Interactive and alleged that Rockstar used her likeness in GTA V. Similar to martini girl, the character of Lacey Jonas was front and centre of its marketing.
Lohan claimed her image was used without her permission, but after a long and arduous legal process, the ruling was dismissed in 2018. The mystery of the Vice City girl has gone seemingly unanswered until now, and it's fascinating to finally have the theories confirmed. Though we're hoping that this woman hasn't been based on a real person without permission, for Rockstar Games' sake.
