It's almost hard to believe that we're still not done with the GTA Trilogy, but it looks like Rockstar isn't willing to let up on the potential for more cash.

GTA: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition was about as crammed in as its title, making an attempt to offer players a refreshed way to play three classic games in the franchise. All it really did was squander its opportunities with a buggy game that became borderline unplayable.

Worse still, Rockstar interpreted the backlash against the broken product as fans not wanting remade Rockstar games, when the reality couldn't be further from the truth. It was a total mess, meaning the GTA Trilogy remains a slipshod example of lazy and rushed development.

And yet, the games are set to come to mobile in a bid to bring the trilogy back to life - but progress on that isn't going particularly smoothly either.

GTA Trilogy For Mobile Reportedly In Development Limbo

As if the development of GTA: The Trilogy couldn't be any worse. It looks like the disgraced trilogy's transition to mobile isn't going quite as planned. One insider has suggested that the development of the port has been stalled.

Popular Rockstar insider Videotech has shared on Twitter that there isn't a set time for the release of the mobile port of GTA: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition, and even despite that, there aren't any signs that the game is cancelled.

It's likely that the team is struggling in development, or that it is stalled entirely. Such slow development indicates that the project has been dropped for now, which is of no surprise.

If the main version of the GTA Trilogy couldn't make it to its designated consoles in a good condition, it's hard to expect that it'll make it to mobile in any different way.

When Will GTA: The Trilogy Mobile Come Out?

It's hard to tell when we can expect the mobile ports of the GTA Trilogy to arrive, but another insider has an inkling.

Gaming Detective has revealed in a tweet the same news about the game's troubled development but has posited a theory of when we can expect it.

"Rockstar is likely fully focused on GTA 6, so I do not expect this to release until the GTA 6 marketing campaign is well underway," they say.

It makes sense, especially with the delays that are impacting the production of the game. To be honest, knowing how the other GTA Trilogy games play, it's fine. We can wait.
