GTA Online is no stranger to strangeness. After all, with the meta of the game demanding lightning-fast railguns and flying motorbikes with giant rocket launchers on their front, we can’t ask that the game is particularly realistic anymore.
The series has had plenty of run-ins with aliens and Bigfoot over the years, with the franchise poking fun at the conspiracy-theory-obsessive tendencies of the American psyche, and even as the game tries to make an immersive experience out of an online version of its archetype, it doesn’t stray from the bizarre whatsoever.
And now, fans are more confused than ever.
Fans debate GTA Online’s strange radioactive substances
Ahem.
Though the strange is par for the course in GTA, even the most dedicated fans have their work cut out for them trying to dissect where exactly one player has been in the game.
Sharing a series of images in the GTAOnline subreddit, user SeaFriedGumbo has perplexed players by showing them an in-game location that they’ve never seen before - a dirty abyss dripping with radioactive goo.
There’s no word yet on whether the goo will give turtles the ability to stand on two legs, but frankly, there’s no word on any of it - fans have had their imaginations captured by just where exactly the screenshots were taken in the world of GTA Online, as these bright greens aren’t to be seen anywhere else in the game.
But some reckon they’ve got the location pinned.

Players in the comments of the post have deduced that the radioactive spills are to be found in the Acid Lab Resupply Missions, which typically take players to a specific part of the map.
Though this goo can’t be found on the map otherwise, this must be a special one - but either way, many are pretty surprised that GTA would head to a locale quite like this one.
It’s all very odd, but we can’t ask for any less from Rockstar Games. Now we just have to interrogate why the player is naked.
