Not much has been released about GTA’s story at this point in time, however a popular leaker has suggested that it could be a lot shorter than people expect.

This has led some fans to worry that they may not get as much story from the game as they hoped for, others are glad that the game won’t be too long, and a few doubt the claim all together.

A popular leaker has suggested GTA 6 could have a shorter story than people thought

Popular leaker LegacyKillaHD has suggested that the story for GTA 6 could be a lot shorter than people thought.

This is particularly surprising after Red Dead Redemption 2, the most recent Rockstar game to date, had a story which clocked in at roughly 60 hours of playtime.

In response to a tweet asking people to guess how long the game would be, LegacyKillaHD said: “It's not as long from what I heard. Probably 35-40 hours.”

In subsequent comments, they confirmed that this was from information they heard last year, and that the actual time was just an estimate as they were told that it would be shorter than Red Dead Redemption 2.

GTA fans have mixed opinions on the leaked length of the game

Fans of the GTA franchise have had mixed reactions to the leak, ranging from acceptance to complete denial.

Several users were nervous that the game they have waited years for may not provide as much new content as they had hoped for, especially in the wake of Red Dead Redemption 2 which had roughly 60 hours of story content.

One user wrote that they didn’t think any amount of story would satisfy them, saying: “Honestly nothing is enough, I could play probably 200 hours of story or more. I don't get tired of the game until the story is complete, then it gets boring real quick.”

Some Twitter users rejected the leak, stating that they don’t think the game is going to be that short.

“Personally I can’t see that being the case at all,” one said. “But maybe the argument could be made for a shorter main storyline with tons of extra side content and things to do outside of it.”

Another commenter took a much blunter approach, writing: “You know nothing lol.”

Surprisingly, several people commented that they felt like 35-40 hours would be the ideal amount of story content.

“That's the perfect length to be honest,” wrote one Twitter user.

Another said: “If that's true then that's a relief because I can't stand long games anymore.”
