We're getting ready to chart a whole new season of Fortnite, as Epic Games rolls out the red carpet for Chapter 2 Season 6. Following a flooded map in Season 3, the Marvel Madness of Season 4, and the hunter-packed peril of the Zero Point in Season 5, we're galloping toward a "wild" Season 6 that teases Agent Jonesy's possible endgame. Although we don't fully know what's on the way, we're just hours away from jumping off the Battle Bus into a new season.

Posting on Twitter, Mark Rein, Vice President and co-founder of Epic Games, shared a response with one word to describe Chapter 2 Season 6. Rein said the next season will be "wild". The problem is, some think we've had similar promises before that haven't quite lived up to the hype. Namely, disgruntled players pointed to Rein saying Season 5 would be "chaotic".

What's going on in the Fortnite Season 6 teaser?

The typically glossy Fortnite teaser featured the concerned voice of Agent Jonesy, who sends out a worrying transmission. Here, he warns that they've lost control of the Zero Point and no one at The Order seems to care. Reiterating the devastation of the Zero Point's potential, it's likely Jonesy will need us to give him a hand to stop the map being swallowed whole (again). Whether this is as dramatic as Rein teases, or whether it's building toward another massive event in Chapter 2 Season X, not everyone is convinced by this ominous promise.

Fans know Season 5 will round off with a solo event where we're guessing you'll be able to take control of Agent Jonesy. It comes off the back of last season's Galactus Live Event that turned the game into an on-rails shooter to conclude the Nexus War arc. Despite continued critiques Fortnite is a "dead" game, Epic is doing everything it can to reinvent and remodel. With this being the second end of season event that's broken from the norm, we're hoping there will be plenty of action. Still, there are those that think Season 6 will be another disappointing outing that fails to live up to its own hype.

What else does the Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 6 teaser tell us?

Looking closer at the transmission, there are shots of Bunker Jonesy, him as an agent talking on the phone, and what looks like wolf teeth. Even though we've seen the Dire skin in the past, these gnashers look different and tease Rein's "wild" promises. Even though fans are divided about whether Season 6 will actually deliver, there are continued rumours we'll be getting tameable wolves as companions. Just like you could recruit NPCs in Season 5, there could be a revamp with the new arc, that sees players tame ferocious wolves from Weeping Woods.

Other Easter eggs give a potential tease of a new bow and arrow weapon, as well as the number 10 as a possible nod to the number of Brazil's Neymar (new skin anyone?). It's interesting to note there don't seem to be any Easter eggs about established IPs like DC and Marvel, which seemingly debunks the idea that we'll get another season based on already licensed characters.

At the time of writing, there are plenty of swirling Season 6 suggestions. As well as a tie-in comic hinting that Batman skins will be coming to the shop at some point, dataminers claim there will be a new AI mechanic where NPCs will be motoring around the map in vehicles. For now, we'll have to sit tight to wait and see whether Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 6 is worth spending your V-Bucks on, or we should've stayed on the Battle Bus.
