Bat's all folks, bat's all. It looks like the Caped Crusader is spreading his wings wide and getting ready to leap across the Fortnite map in the upcoming Chapter 2 Season 6. Epic Games' battle royale behemoth is no stranger to The Dark Knight and his expanded world. As well as the Caped Crusader Pack, Tilted Towers was turned into Gotham City, we've seen Aquaman as part of Chapter 2 Season 3, while even the current Chapter 2 Season 5 had the Last Laugh pack that's brought Joker and Poison Ivy to the game.

In the aftermath of the Marvel-packed Chapter 2 Season 4, there have been calls for Epic to give us a full-blown DC season. Even if that doesn't look like it will be the case, Season 6 will be honouring the cape and cowl with a Fortnite and Batman crossover comic. Although the crossover comic won't release until next month, new details have us tooling up our Bat-belts ahead of Season 6's imminent drop on March 16.

What is the Fortnite and Batman crossover?

We already knew a Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point comic series was on the way, but with the first part of the six-part miniseries landing on April 20, we now know what to expect. Solicitations for the comic explain how Batman and other DC characters will be trapped in Fortnite. Posting on March 9, dataminer iFireMonkey shared the cover art and descriptions of all six comics - which revealed some surprising details. The cover for Issue #1 shows fan-favourites like Harley Quinn and Catwoman parachuting into the map while battling Fishtick and Cuddle Team Leader.

The description for Issue #2 explains how the Caped Crusader has been dropped on the map and has no memory of how he got here. It also adds, "Can even the World's Greatest Detective escape this trap when time itself resets every 22 minutes?". As each issue goes on, it sounds like Batman will be joined by another frenemie to help or hinder his cause. In particular. The cover for Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point #3 also confirmed another familiar face from the game will be crossing swords with The Dark Knight. Season 5 added G.I. Joe's Snake Eyes as a limited-time skin, and on the cover of the issue, we see the deadly assassin duking it out with Batman.

What does the Fortnite and Batman crossover mean for the game?

The final issue has a typically cryptic tease ahead of its July 6 release. As well as discussing "world-shattering events", there's the mention of a mysterious person behind this all. The obvious culprit would be the Joker, but what if the comics tie to the larger Fortnite world with the return of Midas or maybe even the sinister presence of The Seven? While we don't know what it means just yet, leaker ShiinaBR shared a look at a potential Deathstroke skin that could bring the sharp-shooting villain to the game in Season 6.

Finally, ShiinaBR has promised we will be ale to "explore areas never before seen in the game". We'd always guessed a map revamp was on the way, but this could be huge. Whether this is a DC crossover on a scale with the Marvel one remains to be seen. Despite the success of the Marvel season, Season 5's Zero Point has also been praised as another original story that brought in pop culture characters while putting those Fortnite favourites like Agent Jonesy at its core. Critics have complained Epic is too reliant on skins from DC and Marvel, so there are likely to be complaints no matter what. Either way, someone had better light up the Bat-Signal.
