Is it just us, or has the acceleration of Fortnite's item additions ramped up in recent months? It feels like just yesterday that Chapter 4 Season 2 was introduced, bringing Mega City and its immediately-iconic sliding rails into the game.

Now we're being introduced to new map changes, the unvaulting of the dirt bike, and even new Attack on Titan-themed items to herald the arrival of Eren Yeager and his pals onto the island. It doesn't end with the official reveals either, as new leaks have indicated that there are even more traversal options on the way.

Fortnite's summer vehicles have been leaked

Leakers in the field of Fornite always seem to work overtime as it is, but they truly double-down during new updates - and one has revealed that there's an exciting new vehicle coming to the game.

HYPEX is perhaps Twitter's leading Fortnite leaker and has revealed that Epic Games are currently working on a new surfboard vehicle in preparation for the next season in the summer. They also shared an image of the proposed traversal option, though it could simply be a mock-up.

It'll be interesting to see how the summer surfboard works, whether it needs to be powered by moving waves, or if it's simply something to set up a mini-game. After all, it's like adding a bicycle to GTA - fans might use them, but purely because it's funny.

When is the next Fortnite season?

The current season of Fortnite has only just kicked off, but following this reveal, players are already looking to the future in hopes of seeing what's next for the game. 2021's Cosmic Summer event added summer-themed skins and a loading screen, but we could be in for something more substantial in 2023.

The next season of Fortnite is likely to get started on June 2 or June 3, so while we've got some time to wait, at least we know that the theming will be very summery. There are sure to be more sunshine and rainbows on the horizon, and lord knows we could do with a bit of sunshine.
