Epic Games has had some groundbreaking moments during the lifespan of Fortnite. Starting with the gameplay that pushed battle royale games to the forefront of gaming, Epic added vibrant colours and cosmetics that made fans adore the game and rocketed Fortnite to become one the most-played titles of the last three years.

Earlier in 2020, Epic ramped up another significant milestone in Fortnite's lifetime, which sent waves throughout the entire gaming sphere by hosting a live CGI concert on its "Party Royale" playlist. Epic's collaboration with Travis Scott was viewed by 12.3 million live fans worldwide, with many more watching repeats on YouTube.

The "Astronomical" concert was viewed by many as the first glimpse at the future of gaming, with live events being an incredible way of engaging fans and putting on a spectacle that entertained the masses.

Since Astronomical, Fortnite has continued its live performances with collaborations from the likes of DJ sensation Marshmello - who also received an in-game skin.

Next, Epic Games is bringing J Balvin to the arena, with the Grammy-winning Colombian reggaeton star headlining Fortnite's "Afterlife Party".

When does Will The Fortnite J Balvin Afterlife Party start?

Fortnite fans around the globe will be able to tune into the concert at 6pm PST/9pm EST on October 31 (2am BST on November 1), where J Blavin will top off Fortnitemares by performing his new single "La Luz" alongside hits including "Mi Gente" and his single featuring Dua Lipa, "UN DIA".

J Blavin told SPIN, "I really wanted to create a special performance environment for my fans to have a good time, dance, and connect with each other. I’m so thankful that the team at Epic Games and Fortnite helped make this a reality and allowed me to be the first Latin artist to grace their stage, paving the way for others to follow in my footsteps".

You can catch the performance by heading to the "Party Royale" section on the Fortnite home screen, and dive right into the night and dance with the dead until the sun comes up.
