Fortnite players have expressed disappointment at the item shop selling the same items over and over again.

Fortnite players have expressed disappointment at the item shop selling the same items over and over again.
While new items naturally cannot be added to the shop every day, the amount that one skin in particular has shown up is starting to irritate fans of the battle royale.
A Fortnite skin has shown up in the shop so often it’s irritating players
Reddit user whythatpotatoboiling recently shared a post in the FortNiteBR subreddit after noticing that the Mecha Morty Fortnite skin had appeared in 98 different item shops on 88 different days.
“Does anyone else think this is a problem?” the original poster asked. “Can we please just get things that haven't been in the shop in over a year?”
Though nothing is confirmed, players have been speculating that the Mecha Morty skin has been repeated so frequently due to some kind of contractual agreement or a need to sell a certain number of skins to break even on licensing fees.
Players are complaining that there is nothing interesting to buy
Throughout the Reddit thread, several Fortnite players commented on how they have been unable to spend their V-Bucks due to items they are not interested in being repeated in the shop.
One commenter said: “I have nearly 4,000 v-bucks just wasting away on my account now because they refuse to add a single decent skin. Never thought I’d be so pissed at not being able to spend money.”
Another Reddit user added: “Same! 5,300 v-bucks in mine just sitting there. Every single day I’ve checked the store for nearly six months hoping for something to buy with it.”
While some players commented on how this hoarding of V-Bucks doesn’t impact Epic Games as the money has already been spent, others stated that they were not spending any more money on the game due to a lack of desirable things to buy.
It is clear that players are frustrated at the lack of new or interesting items to buy, with one stating: ”Star Wars and Rick and Morty for weeks on end. Anybody who wanted to buy those skins has long bought them. Get it the fuck out good lord.”
This is not the first time that the item shop has caused players to become agitated by repeating items.
Earlier this year, players complained about the Icon Series emotes overwhelming the shop.
