Fortnite hasn't given fans much to complain about in Chapter 5 Season 1, but now that it's unvaulted its most controversial weapon, the hate for the Lock On Pistol is worse than ever.

Thankfully, the current season of Fortnite is largely going off without a hitch. The total reset that came with Chapter 5 brought customisable weapons, Peter Griffin, and a new map inspired by European landscapes  Issues with the item shop refusing to offer any exciting skins aside, players are loving the way the season is going.

But now, Fortnite has finally given us a reason to complain. While the vaulting and unvaulting of weapons is a regular part of each Fortnite season, Epic Games has just brought back a clanger from the depths of its arsenal.

Fortnite brings back the Lock On Pistol, for some reason

Oh god, it's back. Fortnite has officially revealed that the Lock On Pistol has made its return to the game to join the Pistol and Ballistic Shield in the roster of one-handed firearms.

The Lock On Pistol was first introduced with Mega City to help players make actual contact with players sprinting along the zipwires of the locale, becoming very difficult to kill - but now that ziplines aren't quite as present in the game, players are wondering just why the weapon has returned.

The pistol's function is a frustrating one for players, for as long as an enemy stays in a relatively wide radius for a certain period of time, they can unload a huge sum of bullets into them with a single trigger press. Who knows when the Lock On Pistol will go back into the vault, but for now, we're stuck with it.

Fortnite fans react to the return of the Lock-On Pistol

Safe to say, players aren't happy about the Lock On Pistol's return, taking to the replies of Fortnite leaker Shiina to vent their rage about the weapon being unvaulted.

One fumed, "Time to put that trash back in the Vault. How about you all git gud aiming 😉," while another laughed, "Ohhh no no no put this broken thing back in that vault." A third raged, "Bro the pistol they have now is the best. Especially maxed out. Ain’t no one gonna use this."

It's clear that fans aren't pleased with the returning pistol, but ultimately, this is all they've had to complain about this season so far. Now Fortnite, you just need to bring back the Explosive Goo Gun and watch all hell break loose.
