Ex-Call of Duty developer turned streamer Herschel "Dr Disrespect" Baehm has taken aim at the Modern Warfare 3 reveal, claiming they "need to bring the culture of this industry back," as the trailer focuses on skins over gameplay.

The Doc has put quite a lot of strain on his relationship with his former employers over the years after being rather vocal about Call of Duty's shortcomings and even launched a boycott of Modern Warfare 2 after the Nick "NICKMERCS" Kolcheff skin drama.

However, his adoration for old-school CoDs is still evident, and the new Modern Warfare 3 trailer has left him bitter.

The new Modern Warfare 3 trailer didn't show much in the way of actual gameplay, with just a mere two-second clip of a slide-cancel and ADS action being clouded over by an array of production for the new maps and skins, much to the distaste of Dr Disrespect.

"How much do you think it cost them to get Spawn in there? Like a million or something?" he first quizzed in a recent livestream, before taking aim at the MW3 trailer and the lack of gameplay shown.

"Then they put the production into that video. They’re making high-level production video pieces on new skins in the game!"

"The state of this industry, I don’t know where we’re at, man. It’s not what I grew up with. It was literally about playing the games and the fun aspect of interacting with games, but now people are getting hyped off high-production video pieces."

Dr Disrespect calls for gaming 'culture' to return instead of cosmetic hype

It'll be quite a surprise if we do see Doc ever set foot on Warzone again, and by extension Modern Warfare 3, unless the nostalgic maps do have that pulling power.

The streamer continued to admit that the single-player genre was thriving, and questioned why multiplayer can't have the same gameplay support.

"We need to bring the culture of this industry back," he added.

"Where is my thousand-man BR in a game that looks like Cyberpunk at this state?"

Dr Disresepct's Deadrop has continued its development in recent weeks and even shown snippets of car warfare which will take place on the vertical BR, but the 1000-player large lobbies he desires might be quite a stretch too far for his own studio.
