In Modern Warfare 3's current meta, the RAM-9 and the BP50 are the kings of close-range thanks to their strong TTKs. With both maintaining a pick rate of over 4%, it's clear that these have become the default options for the majority of the community.

However, it's important to remember you aren't limited to these weapons, and there are a select few off-meta picks that can deliver you countless kills in multiplayer.

One of these has been discovered by WhosImmortal and is actually an OG gun from MW2, equipped with a powerful TTK as well as plenty of mobility.

"Aggressive" Chimera deals deadly damage at close range in MW3

  • Barrel: 6.5" EXF Vorpal
  • Optic: MK.3 Reflector
  • Rear Grip: D37 Grip
  • Ammunition: Blackout High Grains Rounds
  • Underbarrel: FTAC SP-10 Angled Grip

The Chimera is a true old-school option in Modern Warfare 3. Because it's from MW2, the playerbase often overlooks it, assuming it's not viable.

This is not correct, though, as the Chimera actually has plenty of strengths in the AR department, and while it won't laser beam enemies across the map, it's an absolute force at close-range.

With WhosImmortal's build above, you'll have an "aggressive" loadout equipped with top-tier TTK that farms killstreaks in Season 3 Reloaded.

Not only that, but the setup has plenty of mobility, which makes it perfect for gliding around the map and securing a top spot on the leaderboard.

How popular is the Chimera in Modern Warfare 3?

According to WZStats, the Chimera maintains a steady but relatively low 0.68% pick rate in Season 3 Reloaded.

This isn't unbelievably low for an MW2 weapon, but it does show that the community's opinion of these OG guns is at an all-time low.

The Chimera deserves its chance in the spotlight, so if you want to experiment with a weapon you don't see every day, this AR can consistently deliver in multiplayer.
