Over Dead by Daylight’s life cycle, it’s had some high-profile crossovers with horror icons from games to movies, such as Hellraiser and members of the Resident Evil series in recent updates. A year after the introduction of the iconic Pyramid Head, the game is getting more Silent Hill content.

What Is The New Silent Hill And Dead By Daylight Crossover?

Dead by Daylight's in-game store now features new Very Rare and Legendary skins. The former is a Pyramid Blight set for Pyramid Head, and the latter is a James Sunderland set - the protagonist of Silent Hill 2

The Pyramid Blight set is part of the Hallowed Curse Collection, and sees the killer covered in a putrid bright orange serum that drips all over his body and giant sword. The James Sunderland skin is for the character Cheryl Mason and is part of the Silent Hill Collection. The skins join the existing Silent Hill content, which features Cybil Bennet, Lisa Garland, and Alessa Gillespie.

On the new skins, Behaviour Interactive’s product store manager Rose Li states, "As one of the original characters in the Silent Hill series, James Sunderland has been in the works for quite a long time. Things happen, deadlines shift to accommodate different content, and even though this was a release we had first envisioned for July, Halloween actual feels like the perfect moment to bring James into our game along with a grisly new look for Pyramid Head."

For those wanting to try the new skins, Dead by Daylight is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, select PC storefronts, iOS, and Android.

What is going on with the Silent Hill series?

Silent Hill is one of the most celebrated horror series in video games. The second game in the series is regularly considered one of the best games of all time and even made our list of the top horror games. There has been rumours of multiple games, upon rumours from Norman Reedus, upon rumours of a Konami revival these past few years about potentially saving the series, yet nothing ever seems to come to fruition.

We all know of the reboot that Hideo Kojima and Guillermo Del Toro were involved with that sadly got cancelled, though new Silent Hill whispers have placed the Japanese gaming auteur in charge of a new PlayStation exclusive reboot. There have been some Silent Hill inspired titles in the works too, which may be the closest we’ll get to return to the haunting franchise any time soon.

However, with Konami openly allowing crossovers these past few years and bringing the franchise’s name into the gaming conversation, it may be the perfect setup for a comeback.
