Dead By Daylight Is Getting A Hellraiser Crossover

It's been five years since Dead by Daylight first slashed its way into our lives, and while Behaviour Interactive's unique premise of an asymmetric survival horror launched with a roster of original killers and survivors, it's more recently started to embrace its pop culture potential.
Later additions to the game have included killers like The Nemesis (Resident Evil), The Executioner (Silent Hill's Pyramid Head), and The Demogorgon (Stranger Things), however, it sounds like one of the most iconic horror villains of all time could be on their way to the game.
If you're ready to feel a little prick, Hellraiser's Pinhead is apparently next to join Dead by Daylight.
What is the Dead by Daylight and Hellraiser crossover?
The first teaser for Dead by Daylight Chapter 21 shows off a grainy VHS take with the timestamp of 19:87 in the corner. This could literally be anything, however, let's remember that Clive Barker's seminal Hellraiser came out in 1987.
If that wasn't enough, audio files posted to Discord spell the word "HELL". As noted by PC Gamer, there were also letters posted to Twitter that say RAISE. Put the two together, and what do you get? Although some thought the VHS tease could relate to Five Nights at Freddy's and the security camera feed, it looks like it's the scene where Ashley Laurence's Kirsty comes across a grainy TV playing footage of a blooming flower.
When will the Dead by Daylight and Hellraiser crossover release?
While Behaviour Interactive is yet to officially give Pinhead the nod, it looks increasingly likely that the conniving Cenobite is putting together the pieces of the puzzle box as DbD's latest killer. If Pinhead is on the way, we're also confident Kirsty will be following in his wake as a new survivor. Sure, she's not quite A Nightmare on Elm Street's Nancy or Scream's Sidney, but she's successfully outwitted Pinhead.
There's no release date for when the Hellraiser crossover with Dead by Daylight could rise from the depths of hell, however, the timing couldn't be better considering director David Bruckner is currently working on a reboot for Hulu. The latest rumours suggest we'll be getting a female Pinhead, but for Dead by Daylight, we're expecting the classic Pinhead. We're hoping this is one bubble that isn't burst by Pinhead's iconic melon.
