The road might have run out for Cyberpunk 2077, but that doesn't mean it isn't still active - in fact, far from it. The sci-fi shooter has managed to recover from its catastrophic launch and is considered among the greatest RPG games of all time by those who could stomach a return to the game.

After the critical firecracker Phantom Liberty expansion saw huge success, Cyberpunk 2077 players are disappointed to return to the game, knowing that its era of content updates is over. That doesn't mean there isn't more to see, as one Easter egg has reared its head after years of flying under the radar.

Cyberpunk 2077 player discovers hidden easter egg

Cyberpunk 2077 developers have been washed with relief as a fan has finally dug up an Easter egg that has gone undiscovered since the game's launch. It's a minor touch for sure, but the excitement from the creator of the hidden Easter egg has made up for it tenfold.

The Easter egg appears where many have neglected to look...in the game's main menu. Twitter user crushovitz_b has revealed that when you hover your mouse over the number in the top right corner of the menu that indicates the version of the game you're playing, the text will scramble.

There's a hidden message, and when the digits reform, they spell out 2.0.77. Y'know, like Cyberpunk 2077. You don't need us to explain that to you.

It seems as though some of the Cyberpunk 2077 team was waiting for somebody to pick up on the minor touch in the main menu, as Producer Monika Janowska took to the video's replies to say "Finally! Super happy it was found!"

Pawel Sakso is the Associate Game Director on the next Cyberpunk and was equally impressed. Sasko congratulated the eagle-eyed player and added, "Good find, I started to doubt you chooms will ever find it! Was hidden way too well."

The Easter egg might not seem like much, but as a minor detail buried where nobody would actually think to look is incredibly charming. Players think they know it all, and then someone finds something like this.
