Last year’s Haunting of Verdansk event went down a treat with Call of Duty fans. The spooky additions to Warzone helped to liven the game up a bit, bringing new modes and cosmetics to the battle royale title to celebrate this sinister season in style.

Now, fans are wondering when his year’s Halloween event will be announced, launched, and enjoyed. There are any number of horror icons who could follow in Leatherface and Billy the Puppet's footsteps, so we're dying" to know more.

And now, thanks to a sneaky easter egg hiding in Black Ops Cold War, we’ve got our first hint at this year’s spooky season event.

Nuketown Easter Egg Teases Upcoming Halloween Event

A new easter egg has materialised in Black Ops Cold War’s rendition of Nuketown that has teased 2021’s Haunting event could be just around the corner.

An image has been shared to the blackopscoldwar subreddit - featuring a bucket full of candy, with a spooky Jack-o-Lantern face printed on the front.

"Halloween candy can now be found in one of the Nuketown garages", reads the post. "This wasn’t there previously."

This means it’s likely that the Call of Duty Halloween event is right around the corner - but why Nuketown?

Could The Halloween Event Bring Change To Nuketown?

The appearance of the bucket of candy in Nuketown specifically has sparked conversation - could Nuketown be getting a spooky redesign?

Even if they just stick some jack-o-lanterns on the mannequins or just set the map to a night mode, it’ll be a nice change to things, and add to the long-lasting legacy of the many Nuketown redesigns. Of course, there’ll be plenty to come to Warzone too - but we’ll likely have to wait a little longer to see how the spookiest time of year changes Verdansk this year.

We’ll have to wait and see what spooky month brings to Call of Duty, but if there’s one thing we know, it’s that the update is going to be an absolute whopper. Brace for impact.
