Battlefield 2042 is set to take the FPS world by storm. It’s predicted to be a serious competitor to Call of Duty’s upcoming Vanguard, and genuinely has the opportunity to become the defining shooter of the next-gen experience. But, it needs to get past beta testing first.

The game’s beta has now launched in early access - allowing a select few to get their hands on the game early. It's all hypothetical because as it turns out, Battlefield 2042 is already having some server problems.

Battlefield 2042’s Beta Has Server Problems Already

It looks like the early birds for the game’s beta are unable to even get in the gate, as Battlefield 2042 is struggling to keep up with demand. The pre-release for preorders, Game Pass and EA Play has just opened up, only for many of the players to be met with the classic "Unable to connect to the EA servers" error message.

Suggesting that players check their internet connection and platform client doesn’t mean much to us at this stage, as it’s clear that these errors have appeared as a result of stress on the game’s servers.

It has now been announced, though, that servers are being scaled up to accommodate for these issues. Being told to "sit tight" is a bit of a middle finger to those who've already been pretty patient amidst a sea of delays.

Those who were hoping to try the early build of Battlefield 2042 even earlier might be in a bit of a pickle, not getting quite what they paid for in their preorders - so here’s hoping these issues are fixed soon.

When Does Battlefield 2042’s Beta Officially Open?

These problems will hopefully be fixed incredibly soon, as the Battlefield beta officially cracks open very soon indeed. The beta starts on October 8, giving way to those who preordered and those on Game Pass and EA Play for only a couple of days.

Be ready to pounce on the war-torn beta, as it will only be open until October 10.

These server issues have proven to make the beginning of Battlefield 2042’s launch a little rocky - so here’s hoping that the server problems can see a fix soon. Especially before we drop in on October 8.
