Adin Ross Banned From Twitch Over Controversial Car Stream
For a lot of people, very few Twitch bans are fair. The platform can often be a little flippant when it comes to dishing out its punishments, with some feeling that Twitch is too harsh, or often not harsh enough.
It’s a balance that’s almost impossible to strike, especially as many people’s definitions of “too much” are quite different. But, in a pretty fair banning, one of the platform’s most recognisable streamers has been pulled offline.
Adin Ross Banned From Twitch For Car Stream
Adin Ross, the Twitch streamer with 4.3 million followers to his name, has just been banned by Twitch in what looks to be a permanent move. It’s an action that’s shocked a lot of people, including Ross himself, but frankly, it’s a fair one.
During an IRL stream that saw Ross driving, he looks down to his phone to check the stream chat, breaking the law and endangering other drivers in the process. The video has now been clipped and is spreading across Twitter like wildfire.
Word of Ross’ ban came from the streamer himself, indicating that he’d been banned and that he wasn’t entirely sure if it was permanent or not. “Just got banned in Twitch”, he says. “I think it’s a perm guys… this is not good AT ALL.”
Ross indicates his guilt in a follow-up tweet, insisting that he isn’t a bad person.
Twitch themselves are yet to comment on this controversy, but it’s hard to tell if this ban will be permanent. It’ll be fascinating to see if one of the platform’s biggest creators is toppled by his own stupidity. Twitch won’t be able to avoid backlash whatever they choose to do, but we hope they’ll make the right decision.
