When it comes to the blistering difficulty of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, it will undoubtedly put some players off. Having worked on previous titles such as Nioh and the Ninja Gaiden series, the folks at Team Ninja know how to craft a game that is likely to push you to your mental limits.

Requiring precise controller inputs and cat-like reflexes, Wo Long is perhaps the hardest game the team has put out so far. With a parrying system that relies on skill rather than luck, it takes a huge amount of perseverance to ensure you’re able to power through the game.

With such a challenging combat system, many have wondered if Wo Long contains an easy mode to help newcomers. If you want to know if that’s the case, we can dive into the answer for you.

Let’s not beat around the bush here - Wo Long does not contain an easy mode. If anything, after beating the game you unlock options to make the game even harder. Team Ninja clearly wants players to learn the combat and master it as the adventure goes on.

That being said, there are ways to make the experience easier for you. The most notable is the morale system. As you progress through each level, your morale level will raise up to the max level of 25. You will notice enemies around the map have a morale level too, and the higher your number is, the more likely you are to succeed in battle.

You can increase it by grinding out kills, or the easier way, which is by finding the Marking Flags across each stage. In the top right corner you will see how many there are to find under the number of Battle Flags there are. The more of these you find, the higher your morale level will raise.

By using this feature, you can power yourself up through each level and make the combat much easier. It’s also incredibly vital for taking down bosses. It is worth noting that this rank resets at the beginning of each stage, so ensure you thoroughly scour every level in Wo Long to create your own easy mode.
