The TUNIC Upgrade Points allow you to enhance the little fox protagonist by making them more powerful throughout the game. One of the rewards for exploring TUNIC's world is upgrade points which can be used to increase one of the six stats that relate to combat. To make the most of the TUNIC Upgrade Points, read on to see all their locations.

  • We've also got a number of TUNIC Tips to further help you conquer the mystery of these lands.

TUNIC Upgrade Points: What Are Upgrade Points?

The TUNIC Upgrade Points are used to enhance the following stats: Attack, Defence, Potion, HP, SP, and MP. The Upgrade Points can be found around the world, typically in chests, and taking them back to a respawn point allows you to spend some currency and sacrifice the item to receive the related upgrade.

Attack and Defence are pretty self-explanatory in terms of what they increase, whereas Potions will boost the amount of health you receive from TUNIC HP Pots. HP, SP, and MP all relate to your three metres, health, stamina, and mana, and upgrades for these will just increase how much you have overall.

The first of the TUNIC Upgrade Points you'll likely come across is the first of the upgrades for your potions. After receiving the sword from the Hero's Grave in the East Forest, if you make your way back into the first room of this area, before going into the door back to the Overworld, on the left wall are some bushes which can be destroyed. Cut them down and walk through the gap where you'll come out into a forested area, with the chest containing the Potion upgrade ahead.

Another Upgrade Point can be found soon after the previous by making your way to the beach at the bottom of the Overworld. The easiest way to get here is by using the secret path behind the windmill, and travelling until you can climb down onto the beach. From here, follow the beach along until a turret pops out. The second Potion upgrade can be found in the chest underneath the walkway just next to the turret.

From the town in the centre of the Overworld, if you walk towards the west and down the ramp, following the path will lead you to a doorway. Inside, if you make your way to the backroom, there will be a number of opened and unopened chests. The one on the very right will contain the first HP Upgrade Point.

After you gain access to the townhouse in the Overworld, you'll gain the shield in a small underground area, and then emerge next to a lake. If you follow the path north, you'll quickly find a ramp leading up to a chest and a bridge. Opening the chest will net you the first Attack Upgrade Point.

Continue following the path around the lake after getting your Attack upgrade, and after crossing some wooden planks, you can climb a series of ladders to find the second HP Upgrade Point.

Eventually, after following the path around the lake in full, you'll come across a turret and point where you lower a bridge. The new area you can access will let you take a ladder to the underground, and after descending the stairs into the water, you can find a chest on a dirt mound near the wall.

Once you've made your way through the sewers underneath the well, you'll come to a room with a ladder, and a chest next to three breakable pots. Opening the chest will net you your first Defence Upgrade point.

Shortly after finishing the sewers, you'll come into the Dark Tomb. After making your way through this dungeon, you'll come into a large underground chamber lit by pink light. On the opposite side of this room, you can find the chest with the second Defence Upgrade Point.

The next major section you'll journey to is the West Garden. After making your way through the area to the second respawn point, heading north and following the purple path, will take you to a section with blue tiling. Before getting to the ladder which takes you up to a walkway, turn right and clear the bushes along the path. At the end is the first of the SP Upgrade Points.

Walk back the way you came and go up the ladder we mentioned previously. At the top, you can find the second Attack Upgrade Point.

After ringing the two bells and getting the new objective to find the three gems across the world, you'll be able to travel south to the Ruined Atoll. If you make your way to the centre of this area where the statue is, on the bridge to the north there is a bird standing on a chest. Defeat the bird and then you can access the chest to find your first MP Upgrade Point.

Making your way to the top right of the Ruined Atoll map will allow you to find the next Defence Upgrade Point. Climb up the hill where you can activate the pillar, and then walk around the side of it to bring you on top of the red brick walkway, which has a chest with the upgrade at the end.

Once you make your way into the Frog's Domain in the top right of the Ruined Atoll map, you'll descend into a room with a respawn point and a pool in the middle. Run past this pool through a large doorway where you'll end up in a hall, and turn right. Climb up the stairs in this room and then fight the three frog enemies, before opening the chest in the corner and earning your third HP Upgrade Point.

After getting through most of the Frog's Domain dungeon, you'll arrive at some large golden vault doors that have been opened. Just to the right of these doors, you can find the third Attack Upgrade Point.

The next place you can find Upgrade Points at is the Eastern Fortress which can be accessed from the Overworld. Once you make your way there, you'll soon climb down into a cave full of spiders. Making your way through here, you'll eventually come to a room with a chest across some water. If you carry on forward, you can loop back round to interact with a switch that will activate a bridge toward the chest to get your second MP upgrade.

Carry on through the cave, and you will come to an L-shaped corridor with cells on each side. On the right side of the second part of the corridor, there is a room with rubble and a chest next to it, so you can grab your fourth potion upgrade.

Once you've made your way through the cave, you'll come back out inside the Eastern Fortress. Once you climb some stairs, you'll end up on a balcony overlooking some enemies and a pillar. On the left side, there is a doorway that leads into a room with two chests. The chest on the right side contains the second SP Upgrade Point.

The next major area where you'll find more Upgrade Points is the Quarry. Make your way there from the top left of the Overworld map and follow the pink path until you get to the respawn point. Carry on ahead and get rid of the enemies along the way until you get to the bridge you can lower to create a new path. Just ahead of this bridge is the chest with your fourth Attack Upgrade Point.

After travelling through the Quarry area a bit more, you'll get to some train tracks where you can lower a bridge. The chest with the Defence Upgrade Point is just ahead after lowering the bridge.

Skipping ahead some time, you'll have earned the ability to blink dash from completing the Cathedral dungeon. If you head back to the Quarry area by making your way through the Mountains from the top of the Overworld, you can access the respawn point in the middle of some water just before heading into the Monastery.

The last Upgrade Point can be found in the West Garden area, and also requires the use of the blink dash ability. From the beach on the west of the Overworld, you can dash across a broken bridge to get back into the West Garden. From here, travel back through the area until you get to a square section with a fox spirit sitting next to a dead Garden Knight. If you walk ahead and walk down the stairs to the left, you'll come into a shallow part of the water which you can follow toward the fourth HP upgrade.

That's our full rundown of the TUNIC Upgrade Points, and now you know where to find them all, letting you fully upgrade your little fox.

The last thing to do after collecting these Upgrade Points is taking on the TUNIC The Heir boss, so read how to defeat them.
