If you’ve ever heard of The Witcher 3, you’ve also probably heard of Ciri - a popular fan-favourite character who acts as a second hero to the story. While you’ll spend most of your time in the shoes of Geralt, you’ll also get to experience some story beats with Ciri and grow to learn more about her before the credits roll.

However, there are some aspects of Ciri that take a little digging to find out, most notably, her age. Ciri is very secretive, and only eagle-eyed players in The Witcher 3 will determine her true age. If you’re curious to know more and Ciri, her age, and The Witcher 3 in general, you’ve come to the right place.

For the majority of The Witcher 3, Geralt and Ciri are separated, with the main plot thread of the game resorting to you retracing her steps and tracking her down. As a result, you don’t get to spend too much time with the two of them interacting, leading to very little information about the pair of them being discovered.

If you want to learn more about Ciri - or Geralt for that matter - players will have to dig into the game’s lore by reading through in-game journals and other collectibles scattered around the map. For anyone who has spent their time researching and sifting through them all, they’ll have discovered this is how you are able to determine Ciri’s age in The Witcher 3.

The events of The Witcher 3 take place in 1272 and it’s confirmed the prologue of the game takes place when Ciri is 10 years old. However, if you do a little more digging, you can discover the year Ciri was born. Scouring around the in-game journal, it’s confirmed Ciri was born in 1251, thus making her 21 during the events of The Witcher 3.

Of course, Ciri acts much more mature for her age, and that’s propelled by the dramatic events that take place in The Witcher 3 that force her to mature much more quickly. It may be shocking to discover she’s so young, but it doesn’t make her any less of an incredible character in the series.
