You'll want to know how to start The Witcher 3 Blood and Wine expansion, as it's a huge DLC that adds a completely new area to the game, along with over twenty hours of content. The Witcher 3's expansions add a lot to an already massive game, and due to the recent next-gen version, many players are jumping into the full game, with its add-ons, for the first time. So, if you want to experience the new area of Toussaint, check out how to start The Witcher 3 Blood and Wine

The Witcher 3 Blood and Wine is the second and biggest of the two major expansions, introducing players to the entire new region of Toussaint, where a beast is terrorising the kingdom. Like Hearts of Stone, there is an entirely new main quest line to follow, which also ties a nice knot around Geralt of Rivia's story. There are a bunch of new side quests, enemies, armour sets, and a new Mutations system for developing your skills further.

Much like the previous expansion, you can begin Blood and Wine in three different ways. From the main menu, you will have an option to create a new save exclusively for Blood and Wine, which will drop you in the main game at level 35, with powerful enough loot to fully experience the expansion. From here you can start the first quest called Envoys, Wineboys.

You can also start a completely new game, or load into one of your previous saves, and then once you're level 34, you’re ready to go. You will need to complete the quest called A Poet Under Pressure in Novigrad first, but once this is done, a new quest will appear on the Mulbrydale notice board. This is called Envoys, Wineboys, and starting this will let you travel to Toussaint to start the expansion. From there, you can just explore the new region and follow the main quest to your liking.

That's all for our explainer of how to start The Witcher 3 Blood and Wine, and now you know what you need to do to begin the second major expansion.

Why not also tackle The Witcher 3 new quest? This was added as part of the next-gen patch, letting players get armour based on the Netflix series.
