Does The Callisto Protocol Have A Battle Pass?

The Callisto Protocol has many gruesome death animations, chilling sci-fi horror moments, and an intriguing narrative to follow, but the looming presence of a battle pass hangs over many potential players of the game. With some major games like Fortnite and Apex Legends following a battle pass format, does The Callisto Protocol follow the same payment model? Find out below.

Is There A Battle Pass For The Callisto Protocol?

At the time of writing, there is currently no battle pass planned for The Callisto Protocol. What some may be mistaking the battle pass for is the season pass. Included as part of the Digital Deluxe Edition of The Callisto Protocol or available separately, the season pass comes with a bunch of cosmetic content, in addition to new modes and story content. 

The Callisto Protocol season pass includes:

• The Outer Way Skin Collection comes with the armour of the titled faction. It is an underground insurgency that is aligned against the United Jupiter Company. 
• The Contagion Bundle comes with a new difficulty mode: Contagion. This will give you fewer health and ammo drops, and if you die, there's permadeath. The publisher Krafton says on the Steam store listing that " there are no second chances to escape Black Iron Prison or the horrors lurking beneath the surface of Callisto." This bundle also features 13 new death animations for the protagonist Jacob and a new Watchtower Skin collection.
• The Riot Bundle is described to have a wave-based mode, which has you upgrading your weapons or creating new gunfire in between taking out rounds of enemies. It will also have 12 enemy death animations and the Engineer Skin Collection. 
• Lastly, the story DLC is set to release sometime next year. Krafton has been cryptic in the season pass' Steam store listing. It simply says we'll "dig deeper into the horrifying secrets of The Callisto Protocol." Perhaps, we'll get some missions based on the adventures of Percy, the character Gwendoline Christie plays in the prequel podcast Helix Station. 

The season pass does cost extra, but it seems to be offering a menagerie of content for the price.

Is The Callisto Protocol Multiplayer?

Unlike the third entry in the Dead Space series, The Callisto Protocol is purely single-player. There are no co-op missions or multiplayer arenas to speak of. It's strange as PUBG publisher Krafton distributes the game, but there is no semblance of multiplayer in The Callisto Protocol. What makes things odder is that PUBG and The Callisto Protocol were once canonically connected, albeit many years apart. Maybe there will be multiplayer modes in the planned sequel for The Callisto Protocol, but that isn't officially planned as of yet.
