If you’re looking to find out everything you need to know about Tekken 8 in the run-up to its launch, you’ve come to the right place to learn about the game's release date, platforms, and much more.

In a year that has seen new Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter games, Tekken 8 is finally on the way. So, we’re here to break down all the details you need to get started with the game when you get your hands on it.

When is the Tekken 8 release date?

Following a jampacked trailer at Opening Night Live of Gamescom 2023, it was revealed that Tekken 8 release date is Friday, January 26, 2024.

What platforms is Tekken 8 on?

Tekken 8 will be released on PC (via Steam), Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5, meaning there are a variety of ways for players to access the game.

While Street Fighter 6 was also released on previous generation consoles, and Mortal Kombat 1 will also see a Nintendo Switch release, it seems that Tekken 8 is releasing exclusively on current-generation platforms. That said, it will have crossplay across all platforms it is available on.

From the trailers, we have seen and initial impressions from the closed network test, Tekken 8 looks set to continue its traditional combat style.

However, it will also include several new features, including the Heat system, that can drastically alter the move sets and appearances of characters.

Additionally, the Rage Drive system from Tekken 7 is set to make a return. As players build up their rage meter, they will be able to unleash mighty attacks that could alter the trajectory of a match.

The developers have stated that Tekken 8 is designed to be a more aggressive game, where players will need to act fast to land attacks and win fights.

That is everything we currently know about the release of Tekken 8, which is coming up soon. For more on the game head to our Tekken homepage, where you can learn about Tekken 8 rollback netcode, and what we learned from the Closed Network Test.
