Blissey is the latest 5-Star Tera Raid coming to the latest mainline Pokemon games, Scarlet and Violet - but what is the best build to use against it?

If you, like me, are a monster who wants to destroy this cute pink blob for massive gains, keep reading for the best build, counters, item yields and strategies for the Blissey Tera Raid.

What is a 5-Star Tera Raid in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet?

If you’ve been playing Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, no doubt you’ve seen the Tera Crystals that pop up all across Paldea.

These lead to Tera Raids, where you can catch particularly powerful Pokemon with unique Tera Types. If you love a challenge, you’ve got to try out the Seven-Star Tera Raids, including the latest Unrivaled Decidueye Raid.

As the name might suggest, 5-Star raids are a little easier than 7-Star Raids. If you’re playing solo, or not quite at the level to take on 7-Star Raids, these Raids can be a great way of farming for rare items.

Rewards from 5-Star Blissey Tera Raid

You might have seen a Blissey in regular 5 and 6-Star Tera Raids already. However, this limited-time 5-Star Tera Raid Event yields more Exp. Candies and Tera Shards than usual. This makes it easier than ever to start a competitive team, which is great news for anyone looking to take part in the new competitive season starting on April 1st.

Blissey is known to drop Herba Mystica, the powerful herb that makes shiny hunting a breeze. In standard 5-Star Raids, you have an increased chance of receiving this rare drop. However, no Event Raid has dropped Herba Mystica yet.

Best Counters for 5-Star Blissey Tera Raid Event

So you want those sweet, sweet EXP Candies? You’re going to need to take this thing down.

Because this is a 5-Star Raid, its Tera Type will be random. However, there are a few options that stand a good chance against Blissey.

It knows Sweet Kiss, Charm, Softboiled, Sing and Life Dew.

Great news for Violet players - Iron Hands is going to come in clutch against the famously bulky Blissey.

We recommend the following moveset:

  • Close Combat
  • Belly Drum
  • Drain Punch
  • Wild Charge

By opening the battle with Belly Drum to max out Iron Hand's Attack, you’ll be able to hit hard with Close Combat, whilst healing with Drain Punch.

Ceruledge is another good choice for this raid. It can offer critical support that can prevent Sing and Life Dew from causing chaos.

We recommend running:

  • Helping Hand
  • Light Screen
  • Taunt
  • Leer

Taunt will prevent Blissey from using status moves such as Sing, whilst lowering its Defense with Leer.

The 5-Star Blissey Tera Raid Event will run from 00:00 UTC on March 24th through 23:59 UTC on March 26th 2023.
